BGL Monthly - September 2008 - CAS

CAS Version 11.1 and CASNet 6.0 are currently available on our web site. To download the latest update, please log in to the BGL Client Centre.

CAS Version 11.1 added numerous new features, enhancements and tools, to provide our clients with an even more efficient and effective compliance solution.

The CAS product manager would like to recognise the effort of the entire CAS team for their outstanding and unwavering determination and hard work to provide CAS Version 11.1 in August.

We would like to thank our clients that have helped with the Beta testing of CAS for the version 11.1 release. The CAS Beta testers provided outstanding and invaluable feedback during the testing phase of this release and we are sure that all users appreciate their hard work.

CAS Version 11.1 is possibly the most feature packed release in the long history of the CAS product. The additional features and enhancements have arrived with some issues but the persistence of the CAS team and the feedback from clients has enabled the continuing development and improvement in CAS. The feedback from clients helps us to maintain focus on the functions regularly used by our clients.

The success of the CAS update seminars and the feedback it provided is invaluable. The seminars showed how clients and users appreciate and recognise the number of their requests and wish list items that have been added to the system.

The CAS team will continue to constantly strive to provide a software package that is written purely for the benefit of our clients with as much input as possible from its users.

CAS Version 11.1 has allowed for an update of our report engine to Quick Reports 5.0 which has now also enabled CAS and all BGL products to provide a full featured report editor.

The full suite of CAS reports are able to be re-designed and altered by users of CAS. The report designs are able to be changed at the time of preparation where users also have the option to replace the existing report template that CAS currently provides, with your latest redesigned report.

This feature allows users to alter colours, fonts, styles, company logo's, signing lines, database fields, spacing, columns, shadings and so much more in all CAS reports.

The BGL product teams have commenced developing a feature packed Query module. This module will enable CAS clients to query the CAS database in plain English and provide an output in a customisable form.

This will mean that CAS users and users of any BGL products will be able to create, modify and reproduce reports that provide the exact information that is required in the most appropriate format designed by you, the user.

These changes enable clients to get even greater value out of the CAS product and therefore greater value for your business.

BGL and the CAS team would like to welcome our new senior programmer, Prakash Sastry.

Prakash has been a senior programmer for many years, working on numerus systems and brings a great deal experience related to Nexus, our database engine.

Important Note

Please note that CAS version 11.1 includes the latest electronic forms allowed by ASIC. these are the form 6010, 201, 205's and 410's.

CAS users are able to pay for these forms by using their Direct Debit ASIC account or ASIC can invoice direct to the company whom the forms are lodged

Please note the following if documents are lodged electronically and for ASIC to directly invoice the company (i.e. not to use the agents direct debit account):

  1. ASIC will not send an invoice to you the agent - only the company will receive a paper invoice (if the asic direct debit account is used, an electronic invoice is received through the cas software).
  2. If the account is not paid on time, the transaction is reversed.

With reference to a 410, this will mean that the company name is no longer reserved or with relation to the 6010, the company will not be deregistered.

CAS Tip

Form 6010 can now be lodged electronically through CAS .

The form 6010 is created through the CAS Process Tree | Corporate Registers | Other Documents | Deregistration/Dissolutions

The application for deregistration may be made by the company; a director or member of the company; or a liquidator of the company.

If the company is the applicant, then a person must be nominated to receive the notice of deregistration. This is done by attaching a representative to the company in the peoples list.

The signature for the form must be the applicant

Once the form has been created, it is then available to be selected, in your lodgement screen.

Please note – for electronic lodgment, only the Company or a Director/Alternate Director can be the applicant.
