BGL Strongly recommends clients download this latest 11.1 release as it contains important compliance changes relating to ATO ELS validations. These changes are in line with the eighth round of changes to the ATO 2008 ELS Specification validations. This changes are now in production by the ATO as of the 02/10/2008.
A pension split option has been added to the Transaction Add/Edit screen. When entering new transactions to accounts 412 through 417 Pension Payment Accounts and the date of the transaction is 01/07/2007 or later, you will receive a prompt asking you whether you would like to split the pension payment between the member’s Taxable and Tax Free component. If you select <YES> the amount will be split based on the Tax Free Proportion entered in the Members Mode Screen, otherwise, if you select <NO> the amount will be posted to the account entered.
SISS has been added as a source on the Transaction Upload screen. SISS is a fully operational Web-based SMSF administration tool for accountants. It eliminates the need for manual data entry by electronically capturing your clients' SMSF transactions every month and directly exporting aggregated data into Simple Fund. For more information visit www.siss.com.au
Simple Fund Ver 11.1 also contains several other new features and errors corrected. Please review the Help screen or Software Downloads area of the Client Centre for the complete list of changes.
Looking ahead the Simple Fund team is currently working on Release 11.2 which will see more wishlist from clients and the introduction of two new automated web services. Allowing users to securely pull transaction information directly through from Macquarie and Praemium web servers and without leaving the Simple Fund application.
Simple Fund Tip of the Month: You can view a trail balance directly in the transaction screen without having to change screens. Simply select the “Detailed” drop down list box at the top left of the transaction screen and select summarized. You can now see the balance of any account on the screen. To switch back to transactions change back to “detailed”
